We are a nondenominational church family who has been serving the Lord in Asheboro, NC since 1893.

While we certainly celebrate our past, we are embracing the present - maintaining our values while adjusting our methods to ensure that we are still serving King Jesus for many years to come.

Our goal is to form disciples of Jesus, individuals whose entire lives are centered around pleasing their Master (1 Corinthians 6:20) and who are able to pass on the truths they have learned, to others (2 Timothy 2:2). This calls for intentional training, and so we have chosen a three-step strategy based on Christ’s discipleship in the Bible:

EXALT CHRIST - Our hope is that people leave each of our Exalt Him services overwhelmed by the grace and glory of Jesus Christ, committed to lead live that are pleasing to Him.

EQUIP DISCIPLES - We strive to equip disciples with the tools necessary to live Godly lives on a daily basis. Each program here at Spoons Chapel exists to impart one of more of these necessary tools.

ENGAGE THE WORLD - The ultimate goal is to send disciples out into full-time service for Jesus Christ. We seek to nurture this kind of devotion through regular outreach in the community and exposure to ministry all over the world.

STATEMENT OF FAITH:

We believe in God, the Eternal Spirit, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, and to his deeds we testify:

He calls the worlds into being, creates man in his own image and sets before him the ways of life and death.

He seeks in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.

He judges men and nations by his righteous will declared through prophets and apostles.

In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Lord, he has come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to himself.

He bestows upon us his Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the Church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant faithful people of all ages, tongues, and races.

WE BELIEVE:

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - Eph 4:3-6; 1 Tim 2:5, 6

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God - Heb 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory - John 1:1; Matt 1:23; Heb 4:14, 15; Matt 8:16, 17; Col 3:1; 1 Thess 4:13-18

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential - John 3:3-8; John 3:16; Rom 10:9, 10

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is empowered to minister in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and enabled to live a godly life - John 16:13; Acts 1:7, 8; 2 Peter 1:3

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection Of damnation - Rev 21

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ - Col 3:12-14

Isaac & Anna Fetterhoff
Senior Pastor

Originally from Harrisburg Pennsylvania, Isaac became the pastor of Spoons Chapel in September of 2017. His journey with the Lord Jesus Christ began with his conversion just a few days before his fifth birthday, and he committed his life to serving Jesus the summer of his Junior year in high school.

Isaac attended one year at Word of Life Bible Institute, spent a year of discipleship with Encounter Revival Ministries where he met his wife Anna, before completing a degree in Pastoral Ministry at Appalachian Bible College. Isaac and Anna were married on May 18, 2013 and have since had five children: Avonlea (2015), Oliver (2017), Hudson (2018), Adeline (2021), and Finley (2024).

Their first four years of marriage were spent traveling with Encounter Revival Ministries during which Isaac received a Master of Ministry through Baptist Bible Seminary. Isaac has a passion for preaching the Word of God and strives to “rightly divide the Word of Truth” in a manner that is both interesting and relevant to people today.

His goal in life is to form disciples of Jesus, individuals who are wholly committed to serving Christ.

JOE & RILEY LEWIS
YOUTH PASTOR

Pastor Joe Lewis grew up in Honesdale, Pennsylvania in an active Christian home. Although he was exposed to Christ at an early age and heavily involved in church activities, it was not until later that a personal relationship with Jesus was developed, turning him from a life of the world toward something far greater.

After graduating high school, Joey traveled with Encounter Revival Ministries for two years, during which time he was able to help connect many people with King Jesus. Between witnessing the changed lives of those eager to know God and the intentional discipleship and guidance of mentors, he developed a passion for service and felt the Lord’s clear call to pastoral ministry.

In 2023, Joey married Riley Lewis. They moved to Asheboro shortly after, where he served as an intern with Spoon’s Chapel for nearly two years before being promoted and confirmed as the full time Youth Pastor. They share a passion for helping young people discover the abundant life that Christ offers, and for teaching what victorious Christian living looks like.
